Activities

The main objective of WP1 is to manage and coordinate the project as regards the contents, the time schedule, the technical and technological aspects, the financial and information aspects within the partnership. This objective is expressed in the following actions: (i) keeping in contact with the Sicilian Region and fulfilling the rules for technical and financial reporting; (ii) establish and maintain constant and efficient communication between partners through the action of the CdG and the CTS; (iii) maintain relations with the External Advisory Board (EAB); (iv) establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with external entities and / or initiatives that can support the project and promote its sustainability; (v) evaluate, both qualitatively and quantitatively, the impact of the project and define its exploitation and sustainability plan after its conclusion; (vi) define the intellectual property rights of the 3DLab-Sicilia infrastructure and its use cases.

The work plan of WP1 is divided into the following sub-activities:

• WP1.1 - Technical-Scientific Coordination.
• WP1.2 - Impact assessment and exploitation and sustainability plan.
• WP1.3 - Share of Intellectual Property. 

The objectives of WP2 are: (i) to maximize the visibility and impact of the project through a wide dissemination of its objectives, activities and results, with special reference to the use cases of the 3DLab-Sicilia infrastructure; (ii) develop the brand of the project and communicate its results and its use cases to a plethora of different target subjects, both internal and external to the partnership, through the use of a variety of materials and means; (iii) organize four (4) "liquid lab" traveling exhibitions and one (1) high visibility Final Event in Sicily to promote virtual and augmented reality and 3D visualization technologies and the 3DLab-Sicilia infrastructure in order to maximize the use of the latter.

The work plan of WP2 is divided into the following sub-activities:

• WP2.1 - Construction of the visual identity of the project and development of the Communication and Dissemination Plan.
• WP2.2 - Creation of materials and means of communication and promotion.
• WP2.3 - Development of dissemination and promotion activities.

The objectives of WP3 are: (i) In synergy with WP4, define the architecture of the 3DLab-Sicilia infrastructure and of the "liquid lab"; (ii) create the 3DLab-Sicilia infrastructure in the laboratory (during the first year of the project); (iii) validate the 3DLab-Sicilia infrastructure and the "liquid lab" in an industrial environment (starting from the beginning of the second year of the project).

The last two objectives will also be pursued by collecting feedback from WP4 during its sub-activities of implementation and validation of the use cases already identified. The feedback from WP5 will also contribute to achieving the last of the three objectives listed above.

The work plan of WP3 is divided into the following sub-activities:

• WP3.1 - Definition of the architecture of the network and its services and of the "liquid-lab".
• WP3.2 - Creation of the network of centers and validation in the laboratory environment.
• WP3.3 - Validation of the network of centers and of the "liquid-lab" in an industrial environment.

The objectives of WP4 are: (i) in synergy with WP3 to collect and analyze in detail the requirements of the previously identified use cases of the 3DLab-Sicilia infrastructure; (ii) implement the use cases already identified in the laboratory (during the first year and a half of the project); (iii) validate the use cases already identified in an industrial environment (starting from the beginning of the second year of the project).

In pursuit of the latter two objectives, WP4 will provide continuous feedback to WP3.

The work plan of WP4 is divided into the following sub-activities:

• WP4.1 - Collection and detailed analysis of the requirements of use cases.
• WP4.2 - Implementation of use cases in the laboratory environment.
• WP4.3 - Validation of use cases in an industrial environment.

The goal of the WP5 phase is to identify, select, implement and validate (from the point of view of their TRL) new use cases of the 3DLab-Sicilia infrastructure.

The work plan of WP5 is divided into the following sub-activities:

• WP5.1 - Organization and implementation of hackfests in a laboratory environment for the identification of new use cases.
• WP5.2 - Implementation and validation in an industrial environment of the new use cases selected for hackfests.
